This year, I'm teaching enrichment art classes. These are classes that go beyond the regular core curriculum and they teach students in-depth knowledge about various types of art.
Most of my enrichment projects will be large group projects. I think its important for students to learn to work together to create something. This experience is similar to what they would experience in the "real-world". Each student is given a specific task and together they will achieve a finally product.
Enrichment art classes meet everyday (except on friday's) for 3 weeks. Each class is either all girls or all boys, depending on the rotation schedule.
Our topic/theme is based on the concept of 3-D art that is made from recycled materials. Some projects will incorporate other art aspects like architecture, Kentucky history, etc... And, so far, we are off to a good start and I can't wait to post the final pictures.
