Still Life's - Cézanne Style

What WONDERFUL art my students have created! We listened to the book "Cézanne's Astonishing Apples" that is found on the Metropolitan Museums website. After listening to the book, students created warm/cool color still life's based off his work.

After they created their still life's students learned how to connect poetry and art by creating a cinquain poem about their apples. Here are just a few examples!

Still Life's - Van Gogh Style

We've already had a GREAT start to our new school year with lots of wonderful art! These are from my 3rd Graders!

We read the Book "Van Gogh's Sunflowers" by Laurence Anholt and students created their very own still life.  Check out what AWESOME artists they are!

After creating their still life's; students connected art with poetry by writing a simile about their flowers. They learned a SIMILE SONG to help them better understand the concept.
